Trivial - Part 2 of 2

Trivial

The earliest use of the word in English was early 15th century.

A separate borrowing in the academic sense "of the trivium" (first three liberal arts - grammar, rhetoric, and logic);

from Medieval Latin use of trivialis, in the sense of "of the first three liberal arts."

for sense evolution to "pertaining to useless information."

In other words, listen closely to the grammar, rhetoric, and logic that you hear from these sources.

Then, you will be able to undoubtedly tell the truth from a lie.

Trivial - Part 1 of 2

We are bombarded on a daily basis with stories, opinions, and outright lies from the media.

Being able to discern the truth from all of this confusion has become...
...trivial.

Liberal

liberal (adj.)

mid-14c., "generous," also "nobly born, noble, free;" from late 14c. as "selfless, magnanimous, admirable;" from early 15c. in a bad sense, "extravagant, unrestrained," from Old French liberal "befitting free people; noble, generous; willing, zealous" (12c.) and directly from Latis liberalis "noble, gracious, munificent, generous," literally "of freedom, pertaining to or befitting a free person," from liber "free, unrestricted, unimpeded; unbridled, unchecked, licentious."

If you study Grammar, you'll start to see through others misuse of words.

Signature?

A man petitions your lodge.

He tells you that he will do all of the work required to become a Master Mason, but that is all.  Just the minimum requirements.

After which he will not attend any lodge meetings or functions.  He has his title, and now he is done.

You are the last signer on his petition.  If you do not sign, he will not be initiated.

Will you sign his form?
Why or why not?
